September the 23th, 1913, Roland Garros marks an historical event by crossing the Mediterranean Sea with his 80HP engined Morane Saulnier. After the take off from Frejus in the southeast of France, he loses a piece of his engine flying off Corsica (the background of the painting). He lands at Bizerte, Tunesia after an eight hours flight with only five liters petrol left in his tank ! This is a 120 x 60 cm print on canvas. Each print is signed and numbered on the back.
