And Ford put colossal ressources to beat the Scuderia. After two big failures in 1964 and 1965, the American constructor comes back with the Ford GT40 MK2 equiped with powerfull 7L engines. This time, victory is at the finish line. Unfortunately, Ken Miles who has been forced to slow down, sees himself deprived of victory in favor of Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon.
