The most famous British propliner of the thirties was the Handley Page 42. Eight of them were built. Each one was named after a famous character of the Antiquity. These airplanes entered service in 1930 and flew all over the world for ten years. they were very reliable and also desperately slow with a maximum speed of 90 mph.
