The Macchi MC72 was the most fabulous race seaplane of its times. Besides its outstouding streamlined design, it was very advanced technologically. Its contro-rotative props resolved the torque effect dued to the great power of the Fiat engine. Its body was almost completely covered by radiators for dissipating engine's heat. in 1933  Francesco Agello beat the absolute speed record with this machine. The record still stands...
