She was a good friend of Amelia Earhart, another famous female pilot. Bernd and Elly's love story began at the Nurburgring. He, the prestigious race driver and she, the famest woman of Germany - . They were the most glamourous German couple untill the death of Bernd Rosemeyer in 1937. In this painting, you can see Elly's Messerschmitt 108 "Taïfun" and Bernd's Streamlined Auto union type C, both at full speed.
