Lors de l'épreuve du Mans en 1950, Louis Rosier accomplit l'un des plus grands exploits de l'histoire du sport automobile. Alors qu'il est censé partager le volants de sa Talbot T26 avec son fils Jean-louis, il ne cède sa place que pendant une petite demi-heure. Louis Rosier va mener sa voiture à la victoire en gardant le volant 23h et 30 minutes ! Un exploit que Pierre Levegh faillit réaliser à son tour lors des 24 heures du Mans 1952 en pilotant sa Talbot pendant 22h40 avant d'être contraint à l'abandon. Seul louis Rosier restera dans l'histoire.
