In 1973, Matra returned to try and secure a second victory after their success the previous year. Ferrari was there with the Spyder 312PB, which dominated the qualifications. Despite taking pole position and leading the race for 14 hours, the Italian cars ultimately lost the win to Matra. Henri Pescarolo and Gérard Larousse finished the 24 hours with a six-lap lead over Carlos Pace and Arturo Merzario. This painting, measuring 46cm x 38cm, is for sale. I've painted the same composition in bigger (120cm x 90cm) which is also available (visible in the Gallery). Contact me for more information.
