"targe Florio, Lola T70" - oil painting on canvas

A fairly common scene during the famous Targa Florio race: a Lola T70 from the Filipinetti team, driving through a small Sicilian village, is attacked by a dog ! In the background, you can spot Willy Kauhsen's Porsche 908. The Targa Florio was one of the most famous races in the world at the time. The first edition took place in 1906, long before Le Mans or the Mille Miglia. The 1969 edition saw victory for the crew of Gerhard Mitter and Udo Schütz in a Porsche 908.
